EZOfficeInventory is a competent horizontal asset tracking tool. Offices use it for laptops, furniture, badges. IT departments use it for hardware lifecycle. It works.
But if you're a medical device dealer running a loaner pool, the tool is fundamentally asset-shaped, not workflow-shaped. There's a difference, and the gap costs you operationally.

1. No loaner lifecycle
EZOfficeInventory has "checked out" and "checked in". That's it. For a medical loaner that goes from depot → courier → customer → courier → cleaning → pool, you have to manually represent stages as custom fields or workflows. It's possible but fragile, and the system doesn't enforce legal transitions.
2. No transport box concept
Medical loaners ship in standardized red boxes. The box is operationally meaningful — it has its own availability, condition, and pairings with specific loaner units. In EZOfficeInventory, the box is just another asset, with no relationship to deployments.
3. No vertical vocabulary
Your regulatory team talks about MDR Article 18, FDA UDI, sterilization records, AAMI ST79. EZOfficeInventory's UI says "Asset", "Custodian", "Checkout date". You translate between vocabularies forever. With a medical-specific tool, the vocabulary matches and the regulatory features (audit log structure, retention) are designed for that audience.
4. Per-asset pricing
