5-stage lifecycle
Every loaner moves through in_transit_out → at_customer → in_transit_back → cleaning → closed. The system tracks each transition with timestamp, actor, and (optionally) photos. You always know exactly where each unit is.
From day-one operations to multi-year compliance trails.

Snap a photo when the box leaves. Snap another when it comes back. End the "arrived-damaged" arguments forever. Photos stored in EU-region storage with org-scoped access controls (your team only).
Your red (or blue, green, black) transport boxes are first-class entities. Know which box is in transit, at customer, or available. Mark boxes as needing repair. Track box-to-loaner pairings across deployments.
Set expected return date at deploy. System fires email reminders 3 days before due to your team and the customer. Overdue loaners bubble to the top of your dashboard with red badges.
At return, flag the unit if it needs service before next deployment (sticky button, sensor drift, calibration). The unit is blocked from re-shipping until a team member explicitly marks it serviced. Zero accidental re-deployments of broken units.
Click any customer to see every loaner they've ever had — how long, whether returned on time. Click any loaner unit to see its lifetime: every clinic it visited, every deployment, every photo.
Every state change is logged with timestamp + actor + before/after JSON. MDR Article 18 wants traceability — you have it. FDA UDI tracking — built in. Auditor asks for chain of custody, you export the trail.
